Japanese Non-Project Type Grant
The Japanese Non-Project Type Grant is a non-project-specific
official development assistance awarded by the Japanese
Government to a select number of partner-countries
around the world. It aims to help alleviate economic
difficulties being experienced by recipient-countries
and help promote structural adjustments in the country.
The grant comes in the form of commodities such
as urea fertilizers, muriate of potash, and soybean
meal.
In the Philippines, the lead government agency in
charge of coordinating the JNPTG is the Department
of Finance. It is assisted by NAFC, which coordinates
local sale or monetization of the commodity grants.
NAFC's management of the sale optimized the monetary
value of the commodities.
